Located in Curtice, Ohio, east of Toledo, The George F. Ackerman Company is very unique to the equipment industry.  In addition to selling tomato harvesters, sprayers, irrigation equipment, specialized farm equipment, replacement parts and center pivots to the agricultural customer, the company sells new and pre-owned commercial lawn and residential equipment. The business was started in 1939 by the Ackerman family and continues to be family owned and operated.  George Ackerman, the father, is still active in the firm, serving as Chairman.  His son, Mark Ackerman, is the company President; son Kurt, farms several hundred acres as well as handling sales and delivery of agricultural equipment, while son Glen manages customer service for the turf division.  The business was originally located on Bury Rd. in Oregon, Ohio, but moved to its current location in 1980.
